Mowing Angle
To keep your grass healthy, we change the mowing direction each week. If you always mow in the same direction, the grass starts leaning that way. By switching it up, we help the grass stand tall and avoid ruts in your lawn.
Mowing Height
We usually mow lawns at 3 inches or more. Longer grass is better because it supports more roots and finds water and nutrients more easily. We never cut more than one-third of the grass blade at a time. Cutting too short makes grass focus on regrowing blades instead of deepening roots and makes it easier for weeds to grow. We don’t mow lower than 2.75 inches to keep your lawn healthy and protect our equipment.
Mowing Under Trees
Our lawn crews use stand-up mowers, which means they are about 6 to 7 feet high. If your tree branches hang lower than 7 feet, they could harm our workers or damage equipment. We can’t mow under trees unless branches are trimmed to about 8 feet high. Luckily, we also offer tree trimming services! Call us to schedule this important service.
Free Fertilizer
We don’t bag grass clippings. They break down quickly and provide your lawn with nitrogen and potassium, acting like free fertilizer! Leaving clippings on the lawn doesn’t cause thatch. In fact, they help reduce it by decomposing and breaking down dead plant matter. We use mulching blades to cut the grass into small pieces for easy decomposing.
Trimming
We trim around trees, fences, lamp posts, well caps, your home’s foundation, and any permanent structure with adjacent grass. This doesn’t include trimming trees and shrubs.
Blowing
After mowing and trimming, we blow grass clippings off driveways, sidewalks, and patios. We don’t blow leaves out of any area. If there are clumps of grass after mowing, we blow them out for a tidy appearance.
Before Your Service
We don’t move personal property like swimming pools, trampolines, lawn furniture, kids’ toys, or pet waste. Please remove any obstacles before your scheduled mowing day to help us do our job well.
